Image Converter Online

Convert images to JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO and SVG. Select multiple images and download each converted file.

Your files stay on your device. Conversion happens in your browser; images are not uploaded to our server.

Animated GIF/WebP files are converted using their first frame. HEIC/HEIF and TIFF input requires browser decoding support; unsupported files show an error. SVG output embeds a PNG raster image, not editable vector paths. ICO output is resized to fit 256×256. PNG, BMP, TIFF and ICO are lossless; the quality slider affects lossy formats. AVIF output depends on browser support. File extensions are changed by actual re-encoding, not renaming.

Choose an image conversion

Open a dedicated converter with your output format already selected. Each guide explains when to use the format and what happens to transparency, quality and file size.

Which image format should you choose?

Output formats and practical limitations
FormatBest forWhat to expect
JPG / JPEGPhotos, email and compatible uploadsLossy compression; no transparency. Choose a background color.
PNGScreenshots and transparent graphicsLossless pixel storage; photo files may be larger.
WebPWebsite images and product cutoutsSupports transparency; compare quality and size before publishing.
AVIFModern web workflowsExport only works if your browser has an AVIF encoder.
BMP / TIFFSoftware requiring these file typesUncompressed RGB output may be large; transparency is not retained.
ICOWebsite and app iconsSingle-size PNG-based icon fitted within 256×256 pixels.
SVGA raster picture inside an SVG containerEmbeds PNG pixels; does not trace editable vector shapes.

Convert images in three steps

  1. Select one or more pictures from your phone or computer.
  2. Choose the output format. For JPG or WebP, adjust quality; for JPG, select the color to replace transparent pixels.
  3. Press Convert images, then download each result. Check the picture and file size before using it.

Image conversion questions

Is changing the extension enough?

No. Renaming photo.webp to photo.jpg leaves the original WebP data unchanged. This tool decodes and re-encodes the picture into the selected output format.

Will converting improve image quality?

No. Changing format cannot recover missing detail or increase the original resolution. Lossy export can remove detail. Keep an original copy and use the image resizer if you also need different pixel dimensions.

What are the file limits?

Each input must be at most 60 MB and decode to at most 40 million pixels. Large batches can exceed your device memory; use fewer or smaller pictures on a phone. Files are processed one at a time.

Can I convert HEIC, GIF or PDF?

HEIC and HEIF input only work when your browser can decode them. Animated GIF and WebP input export a single still frame. GIF and PDF are not output options in this tool.

Are my pictures uploaded?

The converter processes image files locally in your browser. No account or API key is required. The page also loads third-party advertising and consent scripts; see our privacy policy for site-wide details.

Finish preparing your pictures

Use the image resizer and compressor to change dimensions, the solid-color background remover for plain backgrounds, or the browser image upscaler to enlarge a picture with interpolation.
